A date with Skye's caramel cakes :)

A Date with Skye's Caramel Cakes
serves: 2

cakes - ingredients
20gm butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup self raising flour
40ml milk
salt 1/3-1/2 of a pinch
5 dried dates (chopped)

method
sift sugar salt and flour into a bowl. Melt butter and add to flour mixture along with the milk and dates, stir until mixed. Put in greased ramikins, about 2/3 full, bake until skewer comes out clean (at 180 degrees, usually ready after 20-25 minutes)

sauce - ingredients
20gm butter
1/3 cup cream
1/3 cup brown sugar
splash of vanilla essence
method - combine all ingredients in a saucepan over a low temperature, when butter has melted and sugar dissolved - bring to the boil. Reduce heat & cook for 5-6 minutes until sauce thickens.

Pour immediately over cakes in a bowl and serve with a scoop of yummy icecream and cream

Notes: This recipe was adjusted from a few different recipes by dear Skye. She was in need of a tasty dessert, with limited ingredients.... and came up with this. Needless to say, its a masterpiece!!

this dessert is light and fluffy, and very easy to make. Would be yummy enough for a dinner party, just increase the recipe depending on how many you want to make :)
